      Filtering Updates - SchoolProtect

We have been moving all of our schools across from Webscreen filtering to SchoolProtect. For those now on the SchoolProtect system, 3 updates have been implemented:

        • Gen-AI bundle - so you can block or allow the list of AI sites we have identified (e.g. Chat GPT, Gemini etc.).
        • Embedded content -  to allow you to embed content that would otherwise be blocked elsewhere. E.g. if you want to allow your X feed on your school website.
        • Getting filtering reports sent to other people - you asked; we listened – technical staff can now set up reports to be sent to DSLs.

To find out more, please take a look at the  SchoolProtect User Guide.

          SID - filming ideas

Well done to schools for all the effort put into celebrating Safer Internet Day on February 6th. Now let's make sure that EVERYday pupils are safe online! The resources we created for Safer Internet Day 2024 (board game for KS2 and plan for pupil led film) are all still freely available.

Plus, take a look at our new film about what children say grownups just don't understand about their online lives! Share with parents or better still, why not get your pupils to create their own?

          • LGfL IS NOT INCREASING BROADBAND PRICES IN 2024 - Several broadband companies are increasing costs by approximately 8%. We are delighted to confirm that LGfL is NOT increasing charges to schools in 2024. This decision will save schools millions of pounds and protect school budgets at a particularly challenging time. The decision to fix costs mirrors last year’s position (and every year since 2016).
