NEW Training!
Working effectively with parents and carers is a crucial element of safeguarding children, and this features heavily within the proposed changes to 'Working Together to Safeguard Children'. However developing positive relationships and talking to parents about safeguarding concerns can be a challenge for many staff.
This new training course will support DSLs to adopt a relational approach. We will explore:
What a 'relational approach' means for schools' work with parents
The key ingredients for developing positive relationships with parents, and how to nurture these in your school
How to prepare for and have successful conversations with parents about safeguarding concerns.
This is a free face-to-face course for LGfL school DSLs delivered at LGfL HQ in London. The timings of course are 09:00 - 16:00.
