The PedTech impact report

The PedTech Impact report is available for download complete with an LGfL companion video portal featuring lead teachers from the LEO Academy Trust. Written by Dr Fiona Aubrey Smith author of the PedTech book and LGfL PedTech Portal. The video below features Phil Hedger,  CEO of the Leo Academy Trust, discussing the background of the report, the results of this in-depth study, and how technology has made a difference in terms of accelerating progress, increasing pupils' confidence, and dignity that the use of technology has on its learners.

LGfL *NEW* Resource

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new resource. Developed as part of our Child Bereavement Portal and in partnership with Child Bereavement UK we can now add to our bereavement resource one specifically for pupils with SEND

https://sendbereavement.lgfl.org.uk/

SEND

Regardless of their circumstances, all children and young people have a right to have their grief recognised, hear the truth, and be given opportunities to express their feelings and emotions.

Working in partnership with Child Bereavement UK, LGfL has produced a new resource to support SEND schools and staff to support the school community in the face of challenging situations around grief and death.

The resource has a wealth of resources to support pupils, aid understanding of grief, provide strategies and policies, and a whole host of other support resources. Carefully curated with video footage as well as social stories and further links, this resource sits alongside our very popular and supportive bereavement resources located at https://childbereavement.lgfl.org.uk/

Grammar explained

‘I don't want no pudding’

‘We enjoys Netflix’

‘The girls's football game was delayed by rain’

‘Since your going out, you should check the whether on you're phone.’

Can you spot and name the grammatical errors in these sentences?

If not, perhaps it is time to revisit our Grammar Explained resource located at https://grammar.lgfl.org.uk/. It is designed to support pupils in understanding grammatical terms, empower parents to support their children, and refresh teachers' subject knowledge. Helpful videos for each year group from year one to year six explain many key grammatical understanding areas in a visual and very clearly defined format.

Watch the introduction video on the home page for a handy guide to using the resource.

Quick Bites

  • LGfL IS NOT INCREASING BROADBAND PRICES IN 2024 - Several broadband companies are increasing costs by approximately 8%. We are delighted to confirm that LGfL is NOT increasing charges to schools in 2024. This decision will save schools millions of pounds and protect school budgets at a particularly challenging time. The decision to fix costs mirrors last year’s position (and every year since 2016).
  • LGfL is also offering schools and MATs the opportunity to fix broadband prices for up to 5 years  (or an appropriate period for your school)  This is a significant financial saving for schools, given that prices generally will rise consistently over the next few years. Please contact LGfL at enquiries@lgfl.net to save money and fix your broadband costs for years.

  • If you are a DSL working with SEND pupils in your school, you will be interested in attending the next SEND DSL forum on Wednesday, May 1st, at 3.45 pm where we will be discussing child on child abuse. Please use this link to book on https://lgfl.bookinglive.com/book/add/p/145
