LGfL's Annual Conference 2022

We are delighted to announce that LGfL will be running our annual conference - Let’s Celebrate on 1^st July 2022. Where you can learn about the latest technologies to help your school get the best out of its IT provision and services available, as well as hear important announcements on security, cloud, edtech and safeguarding.

We also have many companies in the UK Tech Village including Adept, ScanningPens, OhBot, Securus, NetSupport, Pobble, Welbee,  Action Mats, BusyThings, Just2Easy and more!

Just2Easy's NEW Library Area

The new Just2easy Library contains hundreds of brilliant resources (* Premium resource available with an LGfL subscription). You can browse through pages of worksheets, interactive activities, and more. The area will be continually updated by Just2easy staff, and teachers in the Just2easy community and is suitable for children across the primary age range.

Choose to search by keyword, age and/or subject. Recommended and popular resources are shown first, making it easy to find the right resource for you and your children (n.b most resources are also suitable for printing).

You can choose to share a resource with children or colleagues or set it as a j2homework activity. Children will only see library resources that a teacher has shared with them, ensuring that they only have access to age-appropriate content. Easily make your own library resources, which can be shared or set as homework.

Made a resource that others would love too? Publish it to the community library! 

The just2easy jubilee resources (as featured in our jubilee.lgfl.net  site can also be easily located from your j2launchpad - where the just2easy team have added a "Jubilee Resources" tab.

Maths Week London - 27th June to 1st July

The Virtual Maths Week London TeachMeet is back!

It will be a chance to share with colleagues a range of different ideas and take something new back to your own classroom.

We are delighted to be supporting Maths Week London again. Their  mission is to ignite a love of maths in children across the capital. Numeracy is a vital skill and it can and should be enjoyable, relatable and accessible.

Arctic Quest 22 Expedition

On the 17th May, Antony Jinman gave a presentation to teachers about the Arctic Quest 22 Expedition - where he is travelling to Svalbard (in between Norway and the North Pole) and subsequently he also presented to pupils. You can watch the teacher and pupil events on ReWind here. 

We received Edward Wilson's school logo to appear on the LGfL flag accompanying the team to Svalbard (see the design of the flag below). It seemed very fitting that the school is named after the Polar Explorer, Edward Wilson!  

The Quest 22 team will be away until early July and plan to host a Post Expedition Pupil event - Tuesday 12th July. You can follow Quest 22 Live - visit here to create a profile. Platinum Jubilee Art Competition

LGfL in partnership with Royal Collection Trust is running an art competition to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee (visit jubilee.lgfl.net for more information and resources).

The competition is an opportunity for pupils to create their own celebration to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in the form of an original art creation.

Submissions can be across different age ranges but no more than 10 in total per school.

Across the age categories, there will be twelve designs chosen. The pieces of art will be specially printed (A2 print size) and displayed prominently in the Family Pavilion at Buckingham Palace between July and September 2022. The winners will also be invited to see their printed artwork in Buckingham Palace on a chosen date in September (yet to be confirmed).

The deadline for this competition is tomorrow - midday on Thursday 9th June 2022.

ReadingZone Live BookClub Events

The ReadingZone Bookclub is aimed at classrooms keen to develop a love of reading and is aimed at ages 5-11 years. Join the one remaining Bookclub event this term: Phil Earle introduces When the Storm Rages; Friday 17th June, 1.45pm - 2.30pm for Years 5, 6 & 7 (Please note the earlier time for this event).
