The Winners of the Art Competition in Partnership with RCT

We are pleased to announce the winners of our Platinum Jubilee Art Competition. Across the age categories, there were twelve designs chosen (see winner's names and schools listed below):

Age Category 4-5:

Age Category 5-7:

The pieces of art will be specially printed (A2 print size) and displayed prominently in the Family Pavilion at Buckingham Palace between July and September 2022. They have also been uploaded to the site, as shown in the screen shot above; press the button below to get a better view.

LGfL Annual Conference - Let's Celebrate

The Annual Let’s Celebrate Conference was held on 1^st July 2022 and what a day it was! The marketplace was buzzing, we had a plethora of keynote speakers, roving reporters and great seminar sessions were delivered by both LGfL staff and outside speakers. 

There will be recordings of the keynote presentations and some of the seminar presentations will be made available on the website shortly.

EdTech Hubs

Marie Beale, Deputy Headteacher of Whitefield Primary School (North West of England EdTech Hub) presented at the Let's Celebrate Conference on "Building a Culture of Possibility".

She offered an inspirational and comprehensive vision of how truly inclusive practice can help ensure every child achieves their full potential; even those that have challenging personal circumstances.

Google Translate

Great news! Google Translate is now accessible for LGfL schools without having to allow it as a 'high-risk website' in our filtering system.

Keeping Children Safe in Education asks us to keep children safe online but not overblock - the changes make this possible. If you didn't override this previously, you don't need to do anything - just get translating! If you want to know more about why it was like that, what's changed or you previously initiated an override, please read the Safeguarding blog written by Mark Bentley.

If you need help blocking or allowing anything, ask your WebScreen admin to make the change for you in the WebScreen portal. If you have any issues, just ask the support team.

KCSIE Online Safety Audit

According to Keeping Children Safe in Education, “Schools and colleges should consider carrying out an annual review of their approach to online safety”.

LGfL has created a document to help you complete this assessment. The customisable document is free for you to download and use in your school from onlinesafetyaudit.lgfl.net. Have a look and let us know what you think!

New Starters Access to Busy Things

Busy Things includes over 1200 activities across ALL subjects in the Early Years and Primary curriculum! Their Early Years activities provide a perfect platform for very young children to explore and learn without the pressure of right and wrong.
Developed with teachers and trusted by thousands of schools! Parents can rest assured their children are having lots of fun AND working to curriculum objectives too.

We are pleased to allow new starters at LGfL schools FREE access to fun learning activities this summer to help them get ready for school (n.b they will not be able to save work).

Use the free login details below for your new starters (Nursery and Reception) parents. Click on the button below to download a leaflet showing these login details which could be sent to new starters parents and carers.

N.B This access will expire on the 30th September; hopefully be sufficient time for you (the school) to provide parents/carers with their child(ren)'s LGfL USO, Google or Microsoft log in (dependent on which the school is using).
