| View in browser Dear IncludED community,   Spring has arrived! Of course we still have challenges ahead but things are at least starting to look brighter in so many ways.  As always, we have been working hard to find the best ways we can give you a little bit of help to support your learners.    Read on for lots of good news including how to enter yourself to a free prize draw to win a really great resource about dealing with lockdown and returning to school courtesy of our friends at Beyond Words.    We know that many of you get this e-mail when a colleague forwards it on to you. If that's you, then make sure you sign yourself up to keep up to date.        Have Your Say LGfL has being going through some big changes recently and we are not done yet as we are always evolving. One of the key areas the IncludED service is supporting schools across the country, for free, is through our training programme.     We have some great ideas to develop our training for SEND, EAL and Wellbeing in school.  Please take a minute to fill in this month's survey. If you are interested in booking some training for your staff, team or event please use this form and a member of the team will get in touch.        Spotlight Resource of The Month - Busy Things Many of you will be aware of just how fantastic Busy Things is already; but it just keeps getting BETTER. We wanted to highlight features that make it such a wonderfully inclusive learning resource.   Audio Feedback: Did you Know that Busy Things now lets you record and send an audio message when you set work or send feedback? Some learners really benefit from being able to hear instructions or feedback spoken by their teacher rather than having to read it. Text to Speech: Many of the Busy Things interactive activities have a speech button. Once enabled, the text elements of activities will be read out loud when clicked. Again helpful for anyone who struggles to access text for any reason.    Access Mode: Don't forget that some activities in Busy Things have been adapted so they can be controlled by switch users. All of the interactive activities also work on iPads and other tablets which some might well find easier to use than a mouse and keyboard.  Beyond Words - Free Resources to Support People Through The Coronavirus Pandemic We all know that stories are a wonderful method of communicating information in an engaging, relevant and memorable way.  A narrative is a powerful way to learn, understand and remember important lessons. However, for some people written or spoken language is not accessible. Some people find pictures much more accessible and meaningful. Beyond Words produces picture stories which have no words on the page. There is a clear narrative to each story but the absence of words enables learners to tell their own story base on the pictures they see. This can tell you a lot about a person's inner world and their understanding of the situation.    Beyond Words are a charity and offer a range of different products and services some of which are paid for but they also have a wide range of resources which are available to download for free. We will shortly be sharing some of these on LGfL's Inclusion Resource Portal but wanted to share some with you right away as they are especially relevant to some of the challenges we are facing right now.  Having a Vaccine for Coronavirus Lenny and Lily In Lockdown Lenny and Lily Return to School       Free Prize Draw! This month we have three pairs of 'Lenny and Lily' Beyond Words story books in paperback to give away. We will pick 3 winners at random and each winner will receive a copy of Lenny and Lily in Lockdown AND a copy of Lenny and Lily Return to school.
