LGfL Summer 2 Training 2022

Dear Colleague

Welcome to the summer 2 edition of your LGfL training sessions! These are provided at no extra charge for any schools and are a great way of engaging with the various LGfL teams: Inspire and IncludEd (curriculum and inclusion), DigiSafe (safeguarding and online safety), CyberCloud (cybersecurity), Tech Squad (including strategy and digital transformation) and Customer Success (onboarding team for new and returning schools). 

A reminder that all the sessions are live (not pre-recorded) which means delegates are able to ask questions and get answers throughout the sessions.

However, some of our partners (such as Google and Just2Easy) have also provided access to the recordings of past sessions (details below).

LGfL Let's Celebrate Conference

It’s been over 2 years since we last got together at an LGfL Conference and a lot has happened since lockdown was announced in March 2020. So it’s now time to get together to celebrate our collective achievements!

At LGfL we are delighted to announce that LGfL will be running a 'Let’s Celebrate Conference' on 1^st July 2022. This is where you can learn about the latest technologies to help your school get the best out of its IT provision and the services included in your LGfL subscription.

Hear from our guest speakers; Chris Dyson (Headteacher of Parklands, Leeds and author of 'Parklands: A School Built on Love'), Osi Ejiofor (Creator of 'Osi's top tech tips') and more speakers to be announced!

Summer 2 Training

Every Monday (in term time) between 15:45-16:45

The Big Staff Meeting is a one-hour online session designed to fit into a staff meeting. It will include training on our most used and versatile primary curriculum resources and demonstrate how they can be used to support your pupils.

N.B The Big Staff Meeting is aimed at individuals, Year Group teams or the whole teaching and support staff team - the choice is yours. (We require just one booking by an individual member of your staff who can then share the joining link with the team).

LGfL EdTech Online Hub Event - 7th June 2022

‘Preparing for a successful September: where next for EdTech in your classroom, school and community’

This panel discussion will feature lead practitioners from the Tower Hamlets and West Midlands EdTech Hubs and will be chaired by Ty Goddard from EdTech UK Key topics covered will include:

• The Critical Role of Senior Leaders - How to develop a coherent vision and lead the changes required

• Covid Keepers - How to consolidate on the gains made during the period of remote learning and school closure

• White Paper Implications - Opportunities to embed EdTech in school improvement planning

• #Pedtech - Understanding the relationship between pedagogy and technology and how it impacts on successful adoption.

LGfL Google Digital Leaders Programme

For all LGfL school digital leaders who are taking part in the #lgflgooglebootcamp Level 1 and 2 Certification Programme… 

This programme is well underway now with many digital leaders reaching Google Certified Educator Level 1 and some already reaching Level 2.

We are delighted at how you have embedded the Workspace Skills "Howdou badges" into your digital strategy. As a group, you have been awarded more than 14,800 badges. Wow!

The variety of ways you supported your staff have been amazing to see. Thank you for sharing what you have been doing on social media and raising awareness of the programme . Some of you were able to dedicate whole CPD/INSET days for the workspace skills and this seems to have been extremely successful. 

This programme does however, come to an end in a few weeks, at the end of June, so please encourage your staff to make the most of this valuable offer from LGfL and Google and to claim exam vouchers as soon as they are ready. The voucher distribution and support will cease on June 30th, but the website, resources and Workspace Skills will remain in place for you to use. 

Please take the time to speak to your staff today and help them to see the value of becoming a Google Certified Educator. Also we’d love to hear how you’re recognising them for the skills and knowledge they have learned during the programme.

LGfL Google for Education Training Interest

Google and Apps Events are looking to launch a new round of training opportunities for teachers in LGfL schools. They would appreciate your input to inform how they deliver the interactive, pedagogically focused sessions based around Google Workspace and Chromebooks.
Attendees at the in-person workshops will explore the theme with an overview of three topics. The workshop will be interactive and hands-on. The stand-alone remote sessions will dive deeper into each topic following the in-person workshop. This will allow attendees at the in-person workshop to suggest remote workshops to colleagues.

Be sure to fill this out and share with colleagues as they will only run sessions that have interest confirmed.
