Dear Colleague
Have you made staff certification a part of your digital strategy? Please take advantage of this timely offer from Google for Education to inspire and help your teachers to become Google Certified Educators.
As a part of the free programme, participants will interact with a cohort of like-minded educators and will be offered differentiated levels of support via flexible drop-in sessions and bite-sized, self-paced tasks. From the 24th of January to the 17th of April, they will experience gamification through Workspace Skills, a set of interactive tutorials that will enhance staff’s productivity and efficiency as they earn digital micro-badges. Oh, and did we mention swag?
LGfL, in partnership with Google, is pleased to launch this Google Level 1 and 2 Certification Programme. As a Google Certified Educator, you will hone your Google skills and transform your organisation using Google tools. Learn to use Google Workspace for Education products to make your classrooms more efficient and improve student outcomes.
Participants should plan to devote around 10 hours in support of earning each of the Google Level 1 and 2 Certification Credentials; this opportunity includes synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. This programme is much more than test prep, so prepare to engage with the content and PD provider representative.
To register your school for this programme, you must be a digital leader/Google administrator in the position to create and manage a Google Classroom for your peers and also be in a position to support and encourage them through the process.
Once registered, you will be expected to promote the certifications programme to your teachers and support staff, aiming to onboard approximately 25 staff members. You will add these staff to your Google Classroom.
You will be given access and training to use bite-sized interactive tutorials (Workspace Skills powered by Howdou) within a Google Classroom, which will allow staff to work through content at their own pace. Regular webinars from certified trainers will supplement the content.
Digital leaders will be supported by regular communications from the LGfL with:
- Access and training on using Workspace Skills
- Suggested best practice for setting up your Classroom
- Optional drop-in sessions for questions and support
- Regular communication from LGfL to keep your staff on-track
- Reminders for the webinars and messages for your Classroom stream
- Resources to supplement Workspace Skills to add to your Classroom
- Webinars which you can join with your staff
This programme will run for the remainder of the school academic year, starting on the 24th of January 2022. The deadline for applications is 3 pm Friday 14th January, so hurry to be a part of this limited offer, fill in the form below!
