Have Your Say
As stated previously, we want to get your feedback on a range of topics to help us to support our community wherever possible! This edition's question is:
What is your top priority for the 2021/22 academic year? (Either as an individual professionally or for the school development plans).
There have been a number of high-profile cyber-attacks on schools in recent months and to help your school protect your mission-critical data, it is important that your data is backed up and stored securely offsite. With GridStore, your school is able to select what data you wish to backup, whether this be individual files and folders or entire physical and virtual servers. You can even backup your Office 365 and Google data directly onto the GridStore platform.
All LGfL customers have a free GridStore storage allocation that’s included in their Let’s Get Digital service at no additional cost which is 50GB for primary and special schools and 100GB for secondary schools. Claim yours today by completing the form on the GridStore website, which also has further product information.
Should you require any further information or clarification, please email gridstore@lgfl.net.
In autumn 2021, we will be running sessions to support those schools who have purchased Winbooks and Chromebooks through our Bridge the Divide campaign as well as our in-house LGfL trainers for topics such as Inclusion, Online Safety & DSLs, Apple and Getting the Most Out of Your LGfL Services and Resources.
Many of our partners have free learning platforms and communities where you can exchange ideas and learn more about the resources:
Also, remember "The Anywhere School 2021"- giving educators the (Google) tools to prepare for the upcoming school year on 23rd June 12-1:15pm.
Partners will all be providing ongoing training in the autumn term and beyond. In the meantime, please do get in touch by emailing contentsupport@lgfl.netif you have further suggestions for autumn training sessions.
Immersive Learning Resources - Early Adopter Schools
We have had several schools register their interest in the opportunity to be an ‘early adopter school’ to try out Discovery's new “Sandbox” platform. If you would like to be considered for early access to this new platform you must have iPad’s that are 2017 or newer in July 2021, please complete the Google form by clicking the button below:
We have a new Busy Things case study featuring Whybridge Infants School, Havering. Victoria Lawrence, Inclusion Manager & Year 1 teacher, and Christopher Goldsmith, Reception teacher answer:
"How have you continued to use Busy Things since returning from lockdown to school?"
If some of the features mentioned in this case study are unfamiliar to you, remember Busy Things staff run regular beginner and advanced overview sessions on Thursdays and Fridays @ 9:00, midday and 15:45 - book the best time for you here.
Alternatively, we (Bradley and Laura) can offer a bespoke Busy Things training session for your school. Get in touch via the link below, which will take you to a Google form where you can select a Busy Things session for your staff:
