ReadingZone Live Bookclub Events
Join the ReadingZone Bookclub programme of free virtual author events this term. The bookclub is aimed at classrooms keen to develop a love of reading and is aimed at ages 5-11 years. The next upcoming event is:
MG Science Fiction with Alastair Chisholm, author of 'Adam 2', on Friday 15th October, 2pm - 2.45pm. For Years 5 & 6 (Readership ages 10+) Author of Orion Lost, Alastair Chisholm will introduce his new science fiction thriller, book Adam 2, about a future battle between humans and advanced intelligence.
'Near Space Launch'is a new resource on LGfL - following the journey of an Ohbot humanoid robot head launched into (near) space.
Then in the summer of 2021, 80 Picoh Robots were donated to a small number of LGfL primary schools to explore the range of features that physical computing offered in relation to the delivery of the National Curriculum. The pilot schools have shared their materials and experiences for the benefit of the whole LGfL community and in doing so have created cross-curricular learning resources for maths, geography, history, science and literacy to inspire educators to use physical computing in a meaningful way. Please visit the site by clicking the button below, It's (nearly) out of this world!
Have you ever not been able to show a video in class because it was restricted? Are you sure that your settings are as safe as possible but also flexible? Do you know how it works and why YouTube is different to filtering?
There have been some changes recently to how YouTube works, so check out our updates at youtube.lgfl.net. Keeping Children Safe in Education asks you to keep children safe on the internet but not overblock, so it is vital that senior leaders, safeguarding leads AND technical teams find out the latest news.
