LGfL Resource of the Month

To help primary schools to support parents and carers we have parents.lgfl.net - information to support parents and carers. This site highlights the services LGfL provides and informs them about the premium hosted resources they can use at home with their children (if the school has a Let's Get Digital School Subscription).

It also highlights the IncludEd and DigiSafe brands; including the dedicated portal for parents/carers called ParentSafe; a one-stop location for all the support parents and carers may need to keep their children safe online.

Supporting Transition Within Primary Phase

We have two LGfL resources made specifically with parents/carers in mind. Why not create QR codes to share with parents and carers at the start of the year to support the transition by pointing them to the Year Group resources within each? (See gifs below demonstrating how to do this).

Maths at Home for Busy Parents

The Maths at Home resource is designed to provide support for parents/carers who wish to help their child with their mathematical development at home.

A video has been made to cover the domains within the maths national curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2.

Grammar Explained

The Grammar Explained resource is designed to support pupils in their understanding of the terms and empower parents/carers to support their children.

A video has been made for each of the grammar terms covered in the primary national curriculum.

LGfL Parent Share

During the next academic year, we will be including a section called "Parent Share" in some of our fortnightly newsletters. The idea is for schools to copy and paste the information to make sharing ideas/resources with parents and carers from LGfL easy and manageable.

There's much to update parents with this term; why not start your next presentation with our ready to use Parent Starter Activity, bringing together the latest key findings from Ofcom with suggested resources to keep up with the latest trends, apps and games, manage controls/settings and talk about life online.

We are currently expanding our collection of videos on YouTube (duplicating some of those hosted on LGfL TV).

Please visit the LGfL and IncludEd channels; there are some great videos for ideas to support SEND pupils at home (created during Lockdown but still relevant now) as well as Top Tips for getting the most from BridgetheDivide devices.
