Bridge the Divide Device Support

Many of you have taken advantage of the fantastic prices LGfL is offering on devices with our Bridge the Divide campaign; by procuring at a massive scale, we are saving schools millions of pounds and increasing access to devices and technology for children, including those disadvantaged.

To support those who have invested in Chromebooks and Winbooks, our Learning Resource Consultants are in the process of making a series of videos filled with top tips to support you to make the most of your devices.

You can watch case studies with school staff talking about how they are providing everyday opportunities to teach and learn in different and more effective ways.

To support moving to the Cloud, we have summarised the digital tools that are freely available to schools and hope to include real-life examples of classroom use of these. Science Museum

The Science Museum is very pleased to have opened group bookings for visits from September to February 2022. Plan an unforgettable school trip and explore fascinating, open access galleries and exhibitions including Exploring Space, book an action-packed show such as Feel the Force, or watch an IMAX documentary like Antarctica in 3D. LSSO 70th Anniversary

The London Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a spectacular programme featuring one of the world’s greatest trumpeters, Pacho Flores under the baton of its Artistic Director Peter Ash.

Mon 20th September 19:30 - Barbican Hall

Flores makes a rare London appearance for the world premiere of Eleanor Alberga’s dazzling new trumpet concerto, based on Caribbean and Latin American folk legends.
The LSSO and its Artistic Director Peter Ash have built a close relationship with Alberga, recently celebrating her 70th birthday with a staged performance of her orchestral showpiece Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Entitled Invocation, Alberga’s new concerto was commissioned by the LSSO following a recent collaboration with Pacho Flores and with generous support from Cockayne Grants for the Arts and Scops Arts Trust.
