Sophos

We have just sent out a Sophos update to technical contacts and support organizations. If you haven't received it and you're interested you can see a copy here. The email includes the opportunity to sign up for our Sophos Surgeries at Bett, where we'll be offering a hands-on review of Sophos Central to health check your school's current settings and provide guidance on how to get the most out of the Sophos licenses available to LGfL schools.

USO Passwords

We have created some guidance on how to self-service your USO passwords and how to update your security information so that staff at your school can reset their passwords without the need for technical support from nominated contacts. Please would you share this link with staff at your school and encourage them to set their security information if they have not done so already.

Renewal Notifications

We're aware that a lot of schools that use Malwarebytes have received a license renewal notification. There is no need to worry about this. The LGfL team have been working behind the scenes to ensure the renewal goes through without any issues. We may be in touch in the new year to confirm your current licensing requirements, but for now, you can rest assured everything is ok.

Two Factor Authentication

Starting January 10, 2022, to further improve security, Malwarebytes will be enforcing 2FA for all users across all accounts. We highly recommend enabling the 2FA option on your account prior to this date to ensure a smooth transition.

Supply Chain Security

Are you concerned about the security of your suppliers? Or setting up a new contract and not sure what to check for? The NCSC has produced useful Supply chain security guidance that you can follow to give yourself peace of mind

You will be aware that schools are being targeted by cybercriminals who steal and encrypt information and demand massive sums for the safe return of that information. If your school has not already joined GridStore to protect your data, please complete the registration form. LGfL provides 50GB for primary and special schools and 100GB for secondaries at no additional cost to your LGfL service.
