LGfL is redeveloping its website to make it easier to find information about all the services available to new customers and for existing customers to utilise our open access resources and training. This will include updated navigation and changes to the overall design, but we will keep frequently used links the same, such as staff mail and training. As well as making them visible and easily accessible from the home page.
We are planning that the new website will go live during the summer term 2022.

Women in Computing Redevelopment
Our Women in Computing resource which celebrates the unique positive contribution of women to the development of computing in the UK has recently undergone a redevelopment.
The resource contains interviews with experts in the field and has sections on WW2 codebreaking, Cold War Computing, Pushing the Boundaries and Inspiring the Next Generation.
We are always keen to hear how teachers have used our resources and how we can improve them. Emailcontentsupport@lgfl.netto tell us more!
SafeSkills
LGfL has recently launched SafeSkills – an interactive, diagnostic online safeguarding teaching tool linked to the RSHE curriculum framework mentioned in KCSIE, enabling teachers to monitor progress throughout the year, It's FREE and available to ALL schools!
The idea of Hive Hackers is to give teachers step by step guidance through the basics of teaching coding. It will show you how you can teach sequencing, loops, conditionals, debugging, and much more besides. It includes detailed lesson plans and teacher guides and assumes no prior knowledge of coding whatsoever.
Hive hackers originated in the U.K. Channel Islands as an initiative by professional services firm Price Waterhouse Coopers ( PwC) as part of their corporate social responsibility programme. They wrote the resources to work seamlessly with the Just2easy coding tools as these were already in use in the Islands. In 2022, permission was kindly given to distribute the Hive Hackers resources to all Just2easy users.
You may well want to start with the "supporting documents", which include a detailed scheme of work.

We are super excited to announce that a Maths Week London TeachMeet is being hosted for 2022 – bringing teachers together to share good practice, practical innovations and personal insights into teaching and learning.
The theme for this TeachMeet is maths and is an invitation to talk about anything you’ve seen/experienced that works well (or perhaps doesn’t). You might just have a question that you’d like to ask, or something that you’d like some feedback on. In any case, it’s an opportunity to soak up all the ideas and talk to like-minded teachers.
It will be a chance to share with colleagues a range of different ideas and take something new back to your own classroom.
There are 3 options to consider if you want to come along:
Online training events are free for all school staff to attend (*with the exception of the Designated Safeguarding Lead Training which we offer to LGfL customers only). Please click the button below to see the extensive training programme available; with new and different IncludEd sessions to pick from. (You should have also recently received a full listing of all the training sessions for April and May).
